The goal of ShakerPedia is to have quality material, while not limited to academic research, that does mean only authors with reasonable qualifications will be given access. We reserve the right to reject or remove any material that we judge does not mean our quality measures.

We have significant experience and tools to provide searchable databases or indexed text repositories. For those technical, here are a few of our area of expertise: php, javascript, java, mysql, solr/elasticsearch, as well as data conversion and text processing.

As of early 2025, Shakerpedia has added a way to help write the biography of lesser known Shakers, to do this:

1. Get a user account by email us at the [contactus] email
2. Search for the Shaker you want to add to
3. Click the link at the very end page of the search and create a new page or add to the one there
