My efforts to document my family history, as it relates to the Shakers, began June 2001 during my second visit to Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. The result was a website: Our Shaker Heritage. Thousands of visitors viewed the Runyon family journal entries and descriptions of life in the Shaker community. I created the Our Shaker Heritage blog to expand on that initial research and make it searchable by subject matter. The address is http://ourshakerheritage.blogspot.com/. Beginning in 2018 during a visit to Watervliet in New York, I started documenting the lives and burials of the Shaker members there, completed data entry in 2022, and hope to photograph all markers in the cemetery soon.
