Sister June passes on

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Sister June Carpenter (1938–2026), who peacefully passed away on November 3, surrounded by her Shaker family. Sister June devoted her life to preserving Shaker history through her dedicated work as cataloger of the Shaker Library. Her gentle spirit, kindness, love of nature and animals, and unwavering devotion to her community touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her quiet grace, generous heart, and the many ways she enriched the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on through the history she helped preserve and the friendships she so dearly cherished. Rest in peace, Sister June. You will be deeply missed
