Hi Rich,

Two things:

  • Can we agree that U.V. equals Union Village? and that Poland Hill equals Poland, Me.?
    • Yes: U.V. or UV is Union Village, OH - RR: I did a bulk update to fix all UV in database to Union Village, OH
    • Not sure Poland Hill is Poland, ME -- I think they might be different at different times -- need to research that.

  • Can we create a new Village name for West Union (aka. Busro)?
    • The Village slot allows any name to be typed - so entering West Union, IN is fine, I am not familiar with Busro - do you have a reference on that ?

RR: It's West Union, IN in the village select

NQ: I haven't seen the Busro name for a village yet, so maybe it's not necessary. Here's a couple references: Mary Lou Conlin "The Lost Land of Busro," Shaker Quarterly 3/2 (1963), 44-60. Oliver W. Robinson "The Shakers of Knox County," Indiana Magazine of History 34/1 (1938), 34-41. Estella T. Weeks and Ernest W. Baughman. "Shakerism in Indiana: Notes on Shaker Life, Customs and Music," Hoosier Folklore Bulletin 4/4 (1945), 59-86 and Carol Medlicott "Conflict and Tribulation on the Frontier: the West Union Shakers and Their Retreat" American Communal Societies Quarterly 3/3 (2009), 111-137.

RR: 5/May/2019 - added West Union, IN and Poland Hill, ME to selection list
